Adele & LMFAO Rajai Billboard Music Awards 2012

Reyoet, Jakarta: Sebanyak 18 nominasi dikantongi Adele dalam Billboard Music Awards 2012. Akhirnya Adele berhasil membawa pulang 8 piala. Kemenangan Adele tersebut diikuti LMFAO yang dapat 6 piala.

Billboard Music Awards 2012 berlangsung di MGM Grand, Las Vegas pada 20 Mei 2012. Julie Bown dan Ty Burrell dari 'Modern Family' menjadi host dalam acara tersebut.

Coldplay dan rapper Lil Wayne mendapatkan empat piala. Sementara Casting Crowns, Jason Aldean dan Lady Gaga masing-masing mengantongi dua piala. Lady Antebellum, Shakira, Wiz Khalifa, Beyonce, Foster the People dan Nicki Minaj juga ikut eksis dengan satu piala yang dibawa mereka pulang.

Sekitar 15 bintang tamu mengisi acara tersebut. Kelly Clarkson sengaja memilih Billboard Music Awards 2012 untuk pamer single barunya 'Stronger'. Begitu juga dengan Katy Perry yang menyanyikan lagu 'Wide Awake'.

Usher membawa serta 20 penari untuk menampilkan lagu baru 'Scream'. Justin Bieber juga tidak ketinggalan menyanyikan 'Boyfriend'. Salah satu hal spesial dalam ajang penghargaan tersebut adalah momen tribute untuk mendiang Whitney Houston.

John Legend diiringi musik orkestra membawakan lagu 'The Greatest Love of All' dan Jordin Sparks menyanyikan 'I Will Always Love You'. Putri semata wayang Whitney, Bobbi Kristina menerima Millennium Awards untuk sang ibunda. Ia pun tak sanggup membendung air matanya.
